Pop culture has romanticized it a bit, so I do want to say that you meet your twin when You are both ready for the next stage of your spiritual growth and development. So sometimes it can get intense . But if you are both open and communicate you will find your way through any challenges you may face ,

1.Your emotions are heightened which make you feel out of control at times as you try to manage the intensity.

2. Even though you may have broken up, you just can not get over it or forget the person. You still feel them even though you may not have seen each other for a long time.

Twin Flame Challenges and Rewards

These connections are usually intense and work if both parties are aware and awake. Problems usually come up because of the intensity when one becomes overwhelmed and runs or if one is much more spiritually aware and the other is still trapped in unconscious patterns and addictions.

Often though even then the pull is strong and after parting for a while they are drawn back together and will try again.

If both can be conscious and aware and allow each other to learn and grow at a pace which is right for them , then you have an amazing relationship of friends, lovers and real true partners.
